Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust record of ? motte reads 'Mound surrounded by pond. Allegedly C20 garden feature (c. 1976) but closely resembles Motte.'

Gatehouse Comments

Close to a crossing of the Severn although this crossing is overlooked by Hen Domen to the east. It is a vague possibility that this could be a welsh motte raised as a counter to Hen Domen but it should also be noted that this glacial valley bottom is full of natural mounds which are easily confused with mottes.
