Two Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust records of placename evidence of castle in close proximity and clearly related. Cae Castell (No 3708) is recorded at SN90657994 and Cwar y Castell (No 3707) at SN90668016.

Gatehouse Comments

Position near village and by road and church. The RCAHMW felt both these names related to land held in demense by the castle of Rhyd yr Onen.
