Recorded by King as 'A possible castle site' Rejected by Spurgeon as there being no documentary evidence or vestiges of earthworks or masonry to justify the name. However, Spurgeon also writes the name is not a recent antiquarian invention and that Brocastle was a small mense-manor held of Ogmore, possibly a sub-fee held from early C12 by the de Reigny family.
