The earthworks and outline of a moat can be seen on aerial photographs of this site from 1993. This is thought to be at the centre of a medieval deer park, possibly a hunting lodge and manor house for the D'Albinis. The ruins of Lower Park Farm can also be seen here. (Norfolk HER)

Liddiard stated that Silfield Park is based on a small 'castle' taken out of the common waste. He also states that this was a slip of the tongue for New Buckenham park. (Norfolk HER)

Gatehouse Comments

Nothing to suggest fortification beyond the moat and mention as a castle seems to be a mistake.
