Mound, suggested as possible castle by Salter, one of two isolated mounds in water meadow.

Circular mound c1m high & C 30m diam at base. Looks like a barrow but its situation on the floodplain makes this unlikely it may well be natural. In field called the Hommes. Slowly being ploughed out, though still visible. (Herefordshire Through Time)

Bronze Age bowl barrow located in an arable field 445m south west of Lower Court. Also previously the site of a recumbent stone with cup markings which was moved to the corner of an adjacent field in 1972 and placed with the carvings on the underside. (PastScape)

Gatehouse Comments

Although not much ploughed the floodplain location is erosive and ditches will have been infilled. However, there is no evidence of this being a medieval centre and can be rejected as motte. See also The Cott.
