Cropmark of large regular square enclosure, with another smaller but wide square feature in centre. Interpreted as Pickering as possible castle or Roman signal station (Aerial Photograph: Pickering, J. 07/1990).
Jean and Charles Hopkinson visited the site (December 1992) and suggest it could have been a marching camp or work camp for Canon Frome fort (Halliwell 1993).
Members of the archaeology section of the Woolhope Club further discussed the possibility of the site being Roman as it is on the line of the Roman road (Margery 63a) from Stretton Grandison to Worcester. The site was visited on 23/04/93. Mr Pickering thinks the grid reference should be S0 656 453 (HAN 1993 Vol. 60). (Herefordshire Through Time)
