Gatehouse Comments

Given that Burton Bradstock was a significant late Saxon settlement, possibly with a minster, there is a possibility that Burton Bradstock had a castle, presumably some sort of fortified manorial centre and, also presumably, near the parish church at the given map reference. However, with no real supporting evidence, this is pure speculation.
