In 1932 the RCHM described the earthwork, on the south-east side of the road some 500m north of Fawley Court, as 'much ploughed down ... all that can now be seen is a slight sinking of indeterminate shape'. Previously the Ordnance Survey had shown it as being of roughly oval form. Recent aerial photographs show a camp clearly, but it is about 100m to the south of the earthwork mapped by the Ordnance Survey. This may be a separate site, the grid reference (SO588312) belonging to the OS site. (Shoesmith)

Gatehouse Comments

PastScape, presumably working from the Herefordshire SMR, locate this SO 5795 3063. Neither location is that of a castle and nothing about either location suggest the site of a medieval residence of any type. Must be prehistoric but as Shoesmith has included this/these sites in his gazetteer recorded as 'questionable'.
