King writes of Ragstaffe 'nothing known of castle mentioned by Moore.' There are a number of known castles as possibilities but there is no known link to these and the name Ragstaff or Wagstaff (a name which has an association with the medieval office of bailiff).

Gatehouse Comments

Almost certainly a lost reference to a known castle rather than a lost castle.
