Coflein record reads "An apparently moated rectangular enclosure or platform, c.28m by 18m, which has a 10m wide bank at its SW end. Traditionally a moated house." Spurgeon reports almost entirely vanished by 1977.

Gatehouse Comments

Only 50m north is an bivallate iron age enclosure (see Berry Wood earthwork) so can be rejected as a fortification since this earthwork would dominate the house. The medieval dwelling does not seem to be of manorial status. A homestead moat, fairly rare in Wales.
