An old Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust record of ? motte reads 'Name suggestive of mound. No further details.' The newer Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust HER does not have the ? motte designation and adds 'Placename suggestive of an artificial mound. The field lies immediately to the S of the river (Duhonw) in the valley bottom. No trace of any mounds or artificial features was seen. However, the field has been subject to pasture improvement, so relevant features may have been removed during that process. (CPAT 2004)'

Gatehouse Comments
