Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust report, at one time suggesting a possible medieval defensive site reads 'An incomplete large circular earthwork with banks 2m high. No visible ditch or entrance. Banks not clearly artificial so site could possible be natural.'

Gatehouse Comments

Location is pretty remote but not entirely improbable as a castle site, although a more likely explanation of the feature is as an animal pound.
