Spurgeon, in his article of 'reject' castles records ruined walls and earthworks destroyed in the 1960's. The, almost certainly medieval, walls of c. 49m square enclosure were only 0.9m thick and not defensive.

'Old Court' was formerly well-marked by a ruined wall and earthworks but some years ago the remains were almost entirely destroyed and the field used as a rubbish dump. The former remains consisted of an enclosure roughly 162ft sq. Only E side retains mutilated walling some 160ft. Internal buildings consisted of a house and out-building, and a small yard, ?associated with Post Medieval sherds. No medieval buildings were noticed, but there was a general scatter of C13th-14th within the enclosure. The site is now believed to be a medieval or post-medieval farm enclosure (Wiggins and Evans 2005) (Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust HER)
