Name suggestive of mound. No such feature noted by OS, 1973 (Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust HER for medieval motte)

Gatehouse Comments

Farm in steep sided valley by road at restricted river crossing although this now seems to be easily bypassed. The nearby Standing Stones may suggest a prehistoric burial mound site although there may be a small chance of a small mound symbolising the knightly status of the farms tenant.
