Placename suggestive of a castle. No such feature visible to OS, 1973. (Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust HER)

The name Horn Castle (PAR 388) occurs on 19th-century maps and a farm known as 'The Castle' lies at the north end of Rhos-goch. No explanation for the name has been determined. (Silvester 1994)

Gatehouse Comments

Area built over with modern development. 1st edition map shows small roughly circular field of the size of a small motte or ringwork in an entirely typical position for a castle or manorial centre.
