Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust record of ? motte reads 'Enclosure 50m square with rounded corners and possible associated mound some 10m square (CPAT site visit 1978). No such features now apparent (OS 1981) Probably mis-sited or destroyed. Note field name Cae Cerrig'.

Gatehouse Comments

Site on isolated hillside, does overlook road. Either this site or a nearby site is recorded as a post medieval spoil heap. The field name translates as 'Field of rocks' which does not necessarily mean a fortification.
