Gatehouse Comments

Almost certainly a grandiose name given, at late date, to a country house now a hotel. Maelgwyn was a welsh lord who held Clgerran Castle for a few years in the early C13 but there is nothing to associate him with this specific house other than the probably fancy of the houses builder.
