There is some doubt as to whether this really is a prehistoric feature. The Royal Commission record of 1925 states that "The camp has the appearance of a prehistoric work, but may possibly be of later date". However, the Ordnance Survey Officer felt that it was doubtful that the site was an antiquity, saying that all the features could be later enclosure walls and the result of quarrying disturbance. MM March 2003. (Dyfed Archaeological Trust HER)
An oval/bean shaped enclosure upon the summit of an isolated, steep sided hillock, c.100m NE-SW by 52m, defined by recent field walls. Certain features, thought to be ancient, appear to have resulted from recent quarrying activity. (Coflein as Prehistoric/Medieval defended enclosure)
