This site has been considered by some writers to be a castle but is rejected as such by Spurgeon as not a motte.

Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust record reads 'Artificial mound 20m diameter by 1m high in St Garmons churchyard possible valley bottom barrow or preaching mound despite churchyard position. Seems too small for motte much disturbed by grave digging.'
