Gatehouse Comments

Spurgeon noted the site and rejected it as natural plus tree-ring. The reference in the CPAT record is to an annotated OS map record. Nothing now visible on air photos. The location in the Severn valley is not improbable but Spurgeon was a skilled observer and the site can be safely rejected.
