Castle or manor house possibly on the site occupied by C17 house Ty Coch. (Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust HER)

Gatehouse Comments

Marked as Ty-coch Farm (Red house) on 1st edition OS map. Area now too built up to read typography or medieval settlement plan. Llantarnam was site of Abbey founded by Hywel, son of Iorwerth Ap Owen, so a high status residence in this area is a strong possibility, although Hywel's caput was Caerleon.
