A rounded eminence has steep slopes around with traces of a surrounding ditch. The references are confusing. (Gwynedd Archaeological Trust HER of medieval motte)

Edward Lhuyd ( Parochialia, ii, 75) mentions an "Intrechment" at Bryn yr Eryr. Nothing of the sort is to be observed in the immediate vicinity of the farm-house now so called. But about 250 yards distant from it, on the known site of an older farmhouse, is a rounded eminence with rather steep slopes which on one side descend sharply to the river Alwen, and on the other sides are appearences of a shallow ditch. These may be remains of the old farm surroundings, but there are no other signs of earthworks. (RCHAMW 1921)

Gatehouse Comments

Site near minor river crossing on restricted road. Nothing shown on map and nothing obviously artificial on aerial photo but could just possible be site of taxation point type castle although a fanciful interpretation of minor earthworks (? lynchets) seems more likely.
