A generally circular earthwork platform, or degraded embanked enclosure, of uncertain date, occupying the apparent butt-end of a gentle north-facing ridge at the edge of an extensive hill-top plateau, defining an area some 28m across, the earthworks rising to some 0.4m high. (Coflein)

Called a Motte by King, CARN records as Iron Age hillfort or undated enclosure.

Gatehouse Comments

This is positioned by a minor road, but one that is easily bypassed and it seems unlikely as even a small customs post type castle. One may speculate is this is some form of animal pound but consideration should be given to David King's great experience.
