Denuded earthwork, possible ringwork, possibly a siege work of c.1217-34. Recorded in Coflein and Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust HER records as a Roman practice camp.

Gatehouse Comments

The reason anyone would build a new siege work when the strong Roman fort of Brecon Gaer lay 200m away from the castle is a question apparently not asked by those are suggesting this as a siege work.
