Postmedieval fieldname 'Hill Bailey Croft', located north of Millend, recorded on the rectified copy of the Awre tithe map and apportionment (1840). There is a small chance that this field name reference to one of the medieval bailiwicks (Smith 1964, 228), although the reasons for this are not given. The topographical location of this site on a spur may also be relevant and justify the interpretation of this as the site of a possible medieval fortification. (Gloucestershire HER)
