An artificial platform by the river is traditionally the site of a cottage, but it may be the site of a moated farmstead from 'the lost vill of Cumquenecath, mentioned in the Lanercost Chartulary. (PastScape ref. Perriam and Robinson)

Gatehouse Comments

Nothing on maps or air photos. Clearly not a high status site and questionable even as a homestead moat of yeoman status.
