Gatehouse Comments

Despite the presence of clear earthworks on the air photo the site does not seem to be recorded in the Northumberland HER under any description. This otherwise pretty desolate area of moorland does have a place-name, which must have some significance and is marked on the OS six-inch map as Hollinhead (remains of (without a closing parenthesis)  but what is marked is a semi-circular feature (the fold wall still visible). Gatehouse suspects this may a rather over eager identification by TAG.
