A Bronze Age bowl barrow situated 440m WNW of College Farm. It is circular in plan, measuring about 21m in diameter, and survives to a height of 1.7m.

The Round Hill at Roxton in all probability a Roman burial mound (Dyer).

The Round Hill at the present day consists of a small tree covered mound without any traces of a fosse. It is much the same as the mound at Tilsworth (SP 92 SE 13), but not quite so large. Its origin is unknown, but it has been suggested that it may have been a windmill platform (Wadmore). (PastScape)

Gatehouse Comments

Identification as this, pretty obvious bowl barrow, as a castle mound have been tentative, although Wadmore compared it to Tilsworth Warren Knoll. It can be safely rejected as a castle.
