Gatehouse Comments

No serious question of a medieval fortification here. House marked 'The Castle' shown on modern OS map. Gatehouse suspects may have been a feature of the once extensive landscape grounds of Mynde Park and, therefore a name of C18 origin. Did the 'The castle' replace a crenellated entrance lodge?
