Gatehouse Comments

Marked as Crab's Castle on modern OS map. There are hints of circular cropmarks, on the low resolution Google air photo, in a field at this given map reference. However the location is not really that of a medieval castle and if there was an earthwork here in the past the likelihood must be that it was prehistoric and, presumably, the site of one or more crab apple trees.
