Site of Castle Dykes - "A circular entrenchment" ('Castle Dike Field' is mentioned in 1655). Now no remains except slight depression at SK 30818383, which may however be natural. (South Yorkshire SMR)

Recorded in the South Yorkshire SMR as 'Enclosed Settlement of Possible Medieval Date', although a prehistoric date must be more likely.
