In Clark's list of moated mounds or burhs, for Yorkshire, is recorded 'Thorpe Heslay.–Castle hill.'

Gatehouse Comments

Probably a reference to Ceaser's Camp 'A well preserved, oval enclosure, with a strong rampart, wide outer ditch but no counterscarp bank. It is sited on gently sloping ground near the bottom of a valley, with a probable entrance on the northeast, lower side.' (PastScape) Some distance from Thorpe Heslay and almost certainly with no medieval use.
