Philips locates this at SO3419238908 The online version of the quoted SMR record locates at SO34103901. The 1887 1:2500 OS map shows a house, called 'The Forge' with earthworks to the north and east marked as 'Old Mill Pond'. Quite what mound the original report was referring to may be questioned but clearly it was not a medieval structure. Presumably the identification was made on the assumption the mound 'protected' a crossing of the Dore.
