Gatehouse Comments

A feature of some sort is shown on the 1889 OS map south of Holmer Farm (approx SJ70920590). This seems to be a pit rather than a mound. Is it possible these place names refer to demense holdings of Dawley Castle? The landscape has been heavily altered by development.
