The place-name Castle Hill appears on 1839 Tithe Award for Milton. Records suggest that there is a ditched enclosure in a field of this name but no location is recorded. (Cheshire HER)

The site is not clearly located in the Cheshire HER. Given map reference is to Milton place-name shown on 1874 OS map. Milton was a hamlet within Weaverham parish but does not seem significant enough to have had a castle. However, it is not impossible that a farmstead, tenurial mound, showing the knightly status of a sub-tenant of the Earl of Chester was located here.
