Humphrey de Bohun was granted licence to crenellate his 'mansum manerii' at Depeden, Essex in 1347.

Gatehouse Comments

Parker identifies this as Depden, near Saffron Walden, now spelt Debden. Presumably a house on the site of Debden Hall built in 1796 and demolished 1936 which was close to the parish church and which had a large park.
