A survey of 1542 refers to a tower being the 'mansion of the vicarage' (Hodgson).

The tower stood a short distance west of the church, and by the early 19th century it had been altered or extended so that the vicarage was a long narrow building running east and west beside the road. This old vicarage was entirely demolished by the Rev Goodenough who built the present vicarage on the same ground but set much further from the road (Dodds 1935).

No trace of this tower exists. Site occurs in the garden of the present vicarage (F1 03-FEB-1955). (Northumberland HER)
