Damaged motte with wet ditch. (King)

'Site of Camp', surrounded by moat (VCH). Small ditched enclosure, probably a post mill type windmill site. 1.5m high, square ditch, destroyed on E side. Excavation hollow in centre 0.8m deep. Situated on a low ridge. Now overgrown (Suffolk HER).

Gatehouse Comments

Somewhat isolate from village now but village looks to have migrated to main road. Even so Gatehouse suspects, despite King, this is not a motte but just a millstead.
