Moat around mound 5 feet high circa 40 feet diameter, with 2 ?modern causeways. C13 C14 pottery from old turf line below mound and from surface. Destroyed by ploughing. OS suggest mill mound but no documentary support. (Suffolk HER)
Gipping, Hill Farm (TM/08156340). Following the discovery of pottery sherds of the 13/14th century during removal of soil, excavations were carried out on a moat-enclosed mound. (PSIA 1958)
