Natural mound with a ditch on the west, traditionally the site of a castle.
Mound is natural rock cap. Ditch is natural - probably former course of River Roden. No trace of occupation. (Field Investigators Comments:F1 JR 05-FEB-62).
Listed by Cathcart King as a natural mound containing a rock-cut chamber. (Shropshire HER)
