Solitary form bastle, measures 6 x 9m, side walls 1.25m thick and end wall 1.5m thick. Current state - house (Ryder 1990).

Stone Hall Farmhouse seems at first sight a standard two storey three bay farmhouse, it is in fact an early 19th century remodelling of a bastle; megalithic quoins and large roughly squared blocks are visible at the south west angle. The east and west walls are rendered (although a boulder plinth is visible at the west end), and the original north (rear) wall is largely hidden by a later outshut. Interior not seen; the south wall looks to be about 1m thick (Ryder 1994-5). (Northumberland HER)
