Geoffrey de Manderville's ... position was confirmed by the empress (Matilda) 'about midsummer' 1141, with hereditary custody of the White Tower and of 'Ravenger's little castle' (with the castle nearby' in her second charter). (Coulson)

Et concedo illi et heredibus suis custodiam turris Londonis cum parvo castello quod fuit Ravengeri (RRAN)

Gatehouse Comments

This reads more like a residential tower on the wall around the White Tower rather than a separate site. That is Geoffrey is granted some, but not all, of the Tower of London complex. Might have been a timber or even stone building possible even one on a motte but the site around the Tower has undergone a lot of development since 1141, including the digging of a large moat, and the site and form is unlikely to ever be identified. However clearly near the White Tower at given map reference.
