Gatehouse Comments

On top of steep sided hill, good views north and east, but difficult access and isolation means highly unlikely castle site. Most possibly a domestic or agricultural building of some sort with the tendency to see structures in the Marches as defensive being at work here. However, there are a few small tower houses, of a sort fairly common in the Scottish March, elsewhere in England so just possibly something like this but nothing more.
