Two mounds lie about 1km east of Leintwardine. The northern one is 74m by 57m and 3m high above a slight ditch which could be modern. The other is more irregular, about 65m by 39m, and also 3m high above a slight ditch. Bath are in marshy ground and their purpose is uncertain. It has been suggested that they could even be natural mounds. (Shoesmith)

Gatehouse Comments

SMR lists as previously considered possible round barrow now deschedualed as glacial fluvial. The supposed slight ditches are probably natural artifice. Nothing about the location is at all suggestive for a castle of any type. However, this is a fine example of the tendency in the Welsh marches to classify any mound as 'possible' motte regardless of any other consideration.
