Remains of a homestead moat consisting of the east and south arms and the eastern half of the north arm, all of which are water-filled. Elsewhere the ditch is visible as an unportrayable superficial depression. The present farmhouse is dated 1865, and there are no traces of an earlier building. Possibly the site of Ellerton Grange, said in 1251 to have walls and dykes. (PastScape)
