Possible motte and bailey. Massive mound with possible bailey to north-east. 1845 Tithe map shows mound west of church with house on summit called Seathill. This building demolished and part of mound moved when railway built c1875. Bailey now occupied by church (originally built 1157). (Jackson 1990)

No other author has noted this mound as a motte but the location would be typical for a motte. Requires further investigation.
