Gatehouse Comments

Castle Hill Plantation is a placename on the modern OS map and is a large low natural, but relatively isolated, hill centred at SO672983 in a position unlikely for a motte. Was this the site of some folly in the park around Willey Hall (it would be fairly prominent in the viewshed from the Hall) or merely some demense holding of Hall (The hill belonging to the 'castle' i.e. manor house)?
