Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust record of ? castle reads 'Placename suggestive of a defended site. No such feature noted by OS 1976; CPAT site visit 1981.'
Also recorded as ? Iron Age Hillfort despite site being in valley. Site is by a minor road and a ford. Although the name is probably misleading this might be the site of a minor fortification of the' knight's fee' farmstead type. - comments by Philip Davis
