A licence to crenellate was granted to Walter Huwet for 'Estham' in 1369.

SO 657687 Eastham. Possible site of a medieval village (T. Rowley List of suspected deserted or shrunken villages, 1969).

"The line of a moat is clearly visible on the north and west sides of Court Farm house (SO 65756873), but the total extent is not discernible. The house may be built over the line of the east side." (Davies). (PastScape)

In 1366 Sir Walter Hewet, William de la More, parson of Eastham, and others obtained licence to enlarge their park at Eastham by the addition of 300 acres. (VCH -ref. Register of Lewis de Charlton (Cantilupe Soc.), p. 63).

Gatehouse Comments

Presumably a moated house on, or near, the site of Eastham Court. This has sometimes been incorrectly identified as the manor house at East Ham, Essex (now well inside London) but in fact the tenurial history in the VCH does make it clear this was Eastham in Worcestershire.
