This is an isolated single storey cottage, probably of C18 date. It has been suggested that this might be the site of a building called the Scele, which is mentioned in 1303, but there is no firm evidence to support this. Remains of other buildings and structures lie to the south-west and survive as grass covered footings and, although there is nothing to support the claim that there is a bastle here, the character of the exposed fabric would not discount it.
